Urban Decay NAKED 3 Swatches & Comparison

Ladies and gents, the Urban Decay NAKED 3 Palette!

We thought we've had enough of Urban Decay's "NAKED" makeup, but obviously we did not express any form of tire when we found out that UD was releasing a new palette; the newest addition to the NAKED line -NAKED 3!

Upon seeing the press photos for the new palette, I was not intrigued at all because it looked quite similar to the Naked 2. I snubbed it. Not until I read more about the palette that I started to feel excitement. On the Urban Decay website, the Naked 3 is described as a rose-toned neutral palette, and that's when I was sold! I am one for everything rose-toned when it comes to eyeshadow. I prefer rose golden tones -browns with hints of pink- for my eyeshadow as I find that it compliments my lid color more than any other colors; even brown looks kind of harsh on my lids.

After finding such information, I jumped and signed up for e-mails on www.UrbanDecay.com to ensure that I get the word once the palette has been launched. Sadly, signing up was useless! If it weren't for Instagram, I would have never found out that the palette had been launched! I have some Instagram friends to thank for that. It was 8:00am and I had just woken up. As usual, I go and check Instagram and as I was scrolling through, I stumbled upon screenshots of the Urban Decay website's announcement of the palette's launch and I immediately ran to the dining room where my laptop was, almost slipping, and bought two palettes just to make sure. I got reaaaallly lucky that I saw the screenshot on Instagram early because a little over an hour after purchasing, the palette was sold out! Of course.

*COMPARISON TO THE NAKED AND NAKED 2 PALETTE*

As I had mentioned, I felt skeptical about purchasing the Naked 3 because of its similarity to the Naked 2 according to the press pictures before its launch. After two days of worrisome, waiting by the door for the mail man, waiting for the palette to arrive, I was finally able to see it for myself and compare. I'm glad to say that I had nothing to worry about!

Once you see the palette in person you will see that Naked 3 is simply rosy and just that will show how different it is to the Naked and Naked 2 palettes.

The following pictures show the palette on top of each other to enable comparison. As with anything, the camera cannot do 100% justice to the colors, but I can assure you that there is barely a similarity to the Naked 3 with any of the other Naked palettes.
It's simply rose-toned!

The palette retails for $52.00 USD and can only be purchased on www.UrbanDecay.com as of right now. I have heard from UD employees that it will be available in stores mid-December, but I can almost guarantee that it will be available before Christmas; it just has to be!

Autumn Day in the Foggy City

A casual outfit that keeps you hands-free in the chicest of way, thanks to the Louis Vuitton Eva Clutch in the classic Damier Ebene print.

The accessories can sometimes make the outfit, and in this case, indeed they do. If I took off the scarves, the gold watch and the Eva clutch in its crossbody form, the outfit will simply be a jacket and boots. But here we see that the color combination livens up the 'jacket and boots' look.

Getting into the small details. Fortunately, most of the pieces are easily found at many stores as the trendy combination is quite common nowadays. Some of the pieces I remember purchasing are the jacket (www.Forever21.com), boots (Marshalls), watch (DKNY), jeggings (Target) and the Eva clutch (www.LouisVuitton.com)

Autumn colors done the simplest way!

My Holiday Wish-list 2013!

This wish-list is obviously on a much lesser humble-note. I guess it would be something of a dream-wish-list as I am aware that it is quite impossible to get every single one of these products, but I will be quite content with either one of these --Probably more if I get the Prada wallet haha.

Here's a breakdown of the products:

Jo Malone "Blackberry & Bay"
Jo Malone has been my only fragrance destination since I discovered it at the Nordstrom in Westfield San Francisco exactly a year ago. I have smelled and sampled at least 20+ of their scents and I have fallen hard-love on the "Blackberry & Bay" scent. I am almost done with the current bottle I have since it has become my chosen cologne for everyday so I will need one very soon.

Prada Saffiano Wallet
Since I started using wallets I have always owned black ones, which are very hard to find inside a handbag that is parallel to the looks of a black hole, so to banish such dilemma, I would really like a colored wallet -preferably red. I am a pretty matchy-matchy person even with the accessories inside my purse and since my makeup bag is Prada, I would also like my new wallet to be Prada. And plus, I am madly in love with Prada's iconic saffiano leather.

Jeffrey Campbell "Everly" Boots
I have always wanted Jeffrey Campbell shoes -and yes, even the iconic Litas, but let's be real, not everyone can walk in them, so why bother? I opted for the very trendy Everly boots and I am quite excited to rock them if I get the chance to get ahold of a pair.

Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronze Universal
Need I say more? If you are a beauty junkie, you will be familiar with this sought-out bronzer that is nothing but goddess in a tub. Oh the looks I could do with this one product! This product I could probably get myself, but when given a chance to get it for free, why not? haha

RayBan Large Aviators
If you know me personally, you may know that I love sunglasses and have been hoarding them since the day I got contact-lenses. The iconic RayBan Aviators are a pair I need to hopefully complete my collection.

June Favorites

Now that summer is at its peak, I find my products pretty ironic --a matte bronzer, a mattifying spray, a nude lipstick, a deeply moisturizing body butter and even a warm smelling cologne.

While such products may sound unusual for this time of year, my skin does oppose. I tend to use mattifying and matte products because I do get very oily during the summer months; my skin goes through a complete 180 from its severe dryness during the Winter season. Although I try to mattify the rest of my face, I do like to use a highlighter on the areas that look good being "shiny". And I like to use powder highlighters so that it doesn't marry with my oiliness like my current favorite --and many other beauty junkies' fave-- shimmering powder by Dior in Ambre Diamond. The product is simply a must-have as it doubles as eyeshadow, and also comes in many shades in one palette so it will sure suit every skin tone.

Now when it comes to moisturizing, we think "dry skin in the Winter time", well in my case, I like to assure my skin is extra soft and supple in the summer time because more skin shows, unlike during the Winter time, I moisturize for serious skin purposes not necessarily to show off my skin out in 40 degree weather!

For the warm smelling cologne, what can I say, I just love any Jo Malone perfume, so I'll wear it whenever I want! Hahah :)

Revlon Lash Potion Mascara

(from top to bottom: no mascara, 2 coats, looking up)

The pictures speak for themselves. I have hooded lids, and non-existent eyelashes so I like a mascara that does "the works" --lengthens, volumizes(I don't think that's even a word?), and can keep a curl. oh! I can't forget the biggest thing; it cannot give me raccoon eyes hehe.

The new Revlon Lash Potion by Grow Luscious, I can honestly say, does all-of-the-above in just two coats, and I am also proud to say that it does not give me raccoon eyes later in the day. SCORE!
My only peeve about it is the humongous brush. Such brushes, as expected, tend to produce mess on the lids, which is a buzzkill if you've just created the prettiest eye makeup look evah! So I suggest using the business card technique for that one. (Hold up a card of some sort to cover your lids and layer that mascara on like you have 500 more tubes to finish!

Overall score: 8.5/10 --and 10 for the whimsical packaging :)

May Favorites

I used to do videos for this subject of "monthly favorites", but I found no interest in them with my viewers. Although that was a year ago, I still feel like I'd get the same results, so I've decided to start posting them on my blog --for now!

May is definitely a transition for me, and it's practically summer in my head so I tend to start thinking bronzey, glowy, and bright! The time for bronzing and colorful makeup is definitely peaking through.
